Our Rabbi

Welcome to Temple Israel South Shore – an independent Reform Jewish community in the South Shore area of greater Boston.

Would you like to explore your Jewish heritage from a fresh, mature perspective, but don’t know where to begin? Are you looking for a warm and caring community with whom to share your quest for greater meaning in life? Are you seeking more of a sense of spirituality in your life? Are you in an inter-faith marriage (with or without children), and would like to strengthen your connection to Judaism?

Please join us at Temple Israel South Shore, as together we (re)discover the richness of Judaism in community.

Learning – At Temple Israel South Shore, it’s not just a kid thing.

Our educational program at Temple Israel is much more than just a “Hebrew School” for children.
Here at Temple Israel, education means community learning. “Community” as in everyone – parents and non-parents, Jews and non-Jews, children and teens.

We want our children to be engaged in Jewish education and to learn to love Judaism and  feel good about their identity as Jews. Researchers over the past several decades have come to the resounding conclusion that our children develop positive identities as Jews to the extent that they witness their parents and other adults exploring and enjoying Judaism themselves. This simple yet profound conclusion provides the underlying principle for our Sunday morning Community Learning program.
